Sheppard Mullin Represents ICM Partners in Acquisition of Just For Laughs Comedy Group
Sheppard Mullin represented ICM Partners, the international talent agency, in its acquisition of Just for Laughs (JFL). JFL provides an integrated comedy platform in live events and original content, and is especially well known for its comedy festivals around the world, including its flagship festival in Montreal. ICM Partners led a group of investors, which includes media giant Bell Media (owner of Canada's CTV network and a stable of cable channels, Pinewood Toronto Studios and the Crave TV streaming service), Montreal Canadiens owner Group CH, and Howie Mandel, in the acquisition. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The Sheppard Mullin team, led by partners Jennifer Lee and David Sands, included partners Charbel Lahoud, Keith Gercken, Robb Klein and Brian Pass; and associates Edward Xia and Jon Freedman.
