Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance team co-leader Tony Toranto and associate Abigail Sharkey authored the “United States” chapter in the latest edition of the International Green Hydrogen Report, published by international law firm Bird & Bird. The 2024 edition covers the latest updates across the globe, including key jurisdictions across the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa, highlighting key funding and support schemes, and cutting edge projects across the space.

The US Department of Energy (DOE) considers clean hydrogen an important part of the Biden administration’s goal to achieve 100 percent clean electricity by 2035 and total carbon neutrality by 2050. Throughout the US chapter, Toranto and Sharkey delve into the legal framework for clean hydrogen in the US, opportunities for funding, federal clean energy programs, state regulations the DOE’s recently released National Clean Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap, and green hydrogen projects that are kicking off stateside.
