Sheppard Mullin Honored with Immigrant Liberty Award
The Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (“RMIAN”) has honored Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton and its client Spotify with its 2023 Immigrant Liberty Award. The award honors the firm’s partnership with RMIAN and Spotify on a project assisting with credible fear interview (CFI) preparation sessions. Lawyers from Sheppard Mullin and Spotify have been working on CFI matters for RMIAN since 2022, with 75 firm attorneys participating since the partnership began. The work involves preparing asylum seekers for their credible fear interviews, which is the first and most critical step in the asylum process.
“We are grateful for the recognition of our work, but it is truly our honor to help achieve justice for immigrants detained in Colorado and nationwide,” said Sheppard Mullin pro bono partner Dan Brown.
“Pro bono is and always will be a core value at Sheppard Mullin and the number of attorneys at the firm and at our client Spotify who have stepped up to help reinforces our commitment to provide these services,” he added.
The RMIAN Immigrant Liberty Award was created to recognize the outstanding achievements of immigrants, refugees and those who advocate for these communities. Sheppard Mullin and Spotify were honored at RMIAN’s 18th Annual Planting Roots awards dinner on September 22.
