Sheppard Mullin Partner Bill Mateja Elected Dallas Bar Association’s 150th President
Sheppard Mullin is proud to announce that partner Bill Mateja has become the Dallas Bar Association’s 115th President, effective January 1, 2024. The 151-year-old bar association is comprised of more than 11,800 lawyers in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Mateja’s inauguration will occur on January 20, 2024.
Mateja has a longstanding history of service to the Association (“DBA”), including serving on its board of directors since 2007. He also is a past-president of the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
Mateja is a white collar trial lawyer with a particular focus on healthcare fraud and securities enforcement. A former U.S. Department of Justice prosecutor, Mateja over saw the DOJ’s white collar operations as well as the day-to-day workings of its corporate fraud task force He also served as Special Counsel For Health Care Fraud overseeing all of the DOJ’s healthcare fraud enforcement.
