Sheppard Mullin Named 2nd Best Performing Law Firm Overall – Patexia 2019 IPR Intelligence Report
Sheppard Mullin was recognized as the second best performing law firm in the Country (representing Petitioners or Patent Owners) in the annual 2019 Patexia Insights Report. Patexia performs a comprehensive study of more than 8,000 Inter Partes Review (IPR) petitions filed over the past five years. An IPR is a procedure for challenging the validity of a United States patent before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Sheppard Mullin easily made it to the top of the list of most active firms with 82 cases (patent owners and petitioners).
Individual Sheppard Mullin attorneys were also recognized. In the overall ranking, Martin Bader and Steve Korniczky are ranked as the No. 2 attorneys in the entire country with an overall success rate of 92%, largely representing their phenomenal success rate of invalidating patents before the PTAB.
