Sheppard Mullin to Receive Veterans Legal Institute’s 2021 Law Firm of the Year Award
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected to receive the 2021 Law Firm of the Year award by the Veterans Legal Institute (VLI) for launching a pro bono partnership providing legal assistance to veterans in need throughout Southern California. The firm will be honored during its annual “Lawyers for Warriors” gala celebration on November 8, 2021, at the Center Club of Orange County in Costa Mesa, CA.
“We are proud and humbled by this recognition,” said Sheppard Mullin Pro Bono Partner Dan Brown. “This acknowledgement underscores our deep commitment to providing pro bono legal services to individuals, communities and organizations in need. It’s an honor and a privilege to return the favor to the men and women who have so bravely served our country.”
Veterans At Sheppard is an affinity group that strives to positively impact the veteran community by encouraging Sheppard Mullin attorneys and staff to participate in pro bono projects that serve veterans and their families; foster the success and development of veterans in the legal field; lead outreach initiatives to serve veterans in the community; raise awareness of topics, experiences and skills unique to veterans; participate in job fairs and events designed to integrate veterans into the workforce; and partner with clients and other organizations to serve the needs of veterans.
The VLI provides pro bono legal assistance to homeless, at-risk, disabled and low income current and former service members to eradicate barriers to housing, healthcare, education and employment. VLI is one of the very few public interest law firms in the nation dedicated entirely to current and former U.S. service members. Proceeds from the Lawyers for Warriors Event ensure that veterans can receive free legal services so they can thrive.
