Amanda B. Zemel is an associate in the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's San Diego (Del Mar) office.
Areas of Practice
Amanda specializes in complex commercial litigation. Her practice encompasses a broad range of disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, false advertising, defamation, and tortious interference claims. She represents clients across various industries, such as technology, healthcare, insurance, retail, and financial services. She is also a member of the firm’s Trade Secrets team.
Beyond traditional litigation, Amanda advises clients on pre-litigation issues, regulatory compliance, and other risk management concerns, particularly in the healthcare space. She represents clients in investigations and proceedings initiated by federal and state government agencies. She also conducts internal investigations and works with clients to strengthen their compliance programs and related policies. She also represents employers in obtaining workplace violence restraining orders.
Amanda’s practice also includes advising clients on designing and implementing document retention policies.
While in law school, Amanda served as a certified law clerk at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted sex crimes and other felony and misdemeanor offenses. She also participated in UCI Law’s Domestic Violence Clinic, where she represented clients in restraining order and family law matters. She also served as a Staff Editor and Articles Editor for the UC Irvine Law Review.
