Identifying opportunities, managing current operations, preparing for CR, structuring proposals for price to win, and ultimately, winning contracts has always been a complex process for DoD contractors. However, today's upcoming budget, procurement backdrops, and inevitable continuing resolution have fostered an increasingly competitive environment and created additional challenges for companies operating in the industry.
On August 20, 2018, Congress approved the 2019 Department of Defense budget of $686.1 billion, this is the earliest the defense budget has been passed in the last 40 years.
On March 11, 2019, President Donald J. Trump sent Congress a proposed Department of Defense Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Budget of $718.3 billion. The deadline to lift sequestration caps, to prevent spending cuts, is October 1.
Please join us in San Diego on Tuesday, May 28th. The event will begin with networking followed by a panel of experts to include San Diego Military Advisory Council (SDMAC), Deltek, and San Diego Regional EDC with perspectives on what's coming tomorrow and long-term. We will address the budget and contracting trends with each individual offering their point of view on how to successfully navigate the current contracting environment.
