Afghan nationals who were evacuated by the U.S. military in August 2021 as Kabul fell must seek asylum in the U.S. in order to remain in the country. The deadline to file an asylum application is one year after entry, so many applications need to be filed this summer. Sheppard Mullin attorneys are representing Afghan nationals as pro bono clients through Casa Cornelia Law Center. After you participate in this training, you can partner with a Sheppard Mullin team or form your own team within your in-house legal department to represent an Afghan asylum-seeker, with support from the Casa Cornelia Law Center staff.
This is event will be hosted in-person and streamed live on Zoom. Please use the registration link to sign up for in-person or virtual streaming.
