How Generative AI (GAI) Generates Legal Issues

This session will explore the legal issues with the use of GAI, including potential infringement issues with training AI on copyright-protected content (CPC); license restrictions on content used to train AI (e.g., 3 Creative Commons licenses prohibit commercial use) infringement for using the output if derived from CPC, questions of ownership of output based on various TOS for AI tools, the inability to register copyright for AI outputs (at least in US), data privacy issues and much more. A number of lawsuits already have been filed. More will follow.
