Finance Friday - OMG! The Latest from OIG, OMIG, HHS, CMS & DOH
As we head into 2024, health care providers need to be aware of a number of new developments in law, regulations and government guidance. On the federal side, this session will provide an overview of the latest OIG compliance program guidance; steps that the Department of Health and Human Services is proposing to enhance cybersecurity in the health care sector; and new CMS disclosure requirements related to ownership, private equity and real estate investment trusts. On the state side, New York -- also focused on cybersecurity – has proposed new rules for Article 28 facilities. In addition, New York has enacted a new law related to collection of medical debt. And finally, OMIG has updated its self-disclosure program for reporting, returning and explaining overpayments from the Medicaid Program. All of this (and possibly more, as time allows) will be explained in this health law update.
