Over the past year America’s companies have had some uninvited guests: a wave of increasingly sophisticated invasions by organized cybercriminals. Data is going digital, devices are going mobile, and technology is revolutionizing how companies operate. It seems to be business as usual, as your company continues to collect, use and transmit large amounts of sensitive data to operate the business.
Unfortunately, the certain sector continue to be a primary target for cyberattacks. Reports show that the retail, food and beverage, and hotel industries make up the top three targeted industries for data breaches. The damage caused by any of these losses could be substantial. The financial cost for an average data breach is more than $5 million.
The stakes are getting higher regarding cybersecurity. However, there are several steps organizations can take to protect against cybersecurity data breaches. Further, taking these steps can protect companies in the context of increasing investigatory activity by state and federal agencies. The program will focus on what companies need to do now to prepare for and handle a cyberattack, including:
- How to assess the risk of a cyberattack
- How to respond to a cyberattack
- What would a cyberattack cost your company?
- What are your disclosure obligations?
- What to do to insure against losses that accompany a cyberattack
- Interpreting a cyber-policy
