Overview
Kathryn Ryan is an associate with Sheppard Mullin in the firm’s Business Trial Practice Group. She is also a member of the firm’s Transportation, Cannabis, and Privacy and Cybersecurity teams.
Areas of Practice
Kathryn represents clients in complex and multi-jurisdictional business matters in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration. Her practice focuses on a variety of business disputes involving issues of breach of contract, merger and acquisition challenges, defamation, tortious interference, patent infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duties, and fraud. She was part of the Sheppard Mullin team that achieved a significant patent infringement damages award against the United States of America.
As a member of the firm’s Transportation team, Kathryn’s background in the trucking and logistics industries provides a practical understanding of the transportation sector's unique needs. This experience informs her approach to litigation, allowing her to offer insightful counsel and support to clients within that industry, addressing their specific challenges and objectives effectively.
Kathryn is also dedicated to representing and working with pro bono clients. Her pro bono work focuses on prisoners’ civil rights and helping victims of abuse.
