Documentary Featuring Sheppard Mullin Litigators Gets Oscar Nod
The documentary, Abacus: Small Enough to Jail that featured New York litigators Rob Friedman and Sarah Aberg, is nominated for an Oscar in the category of “Best Documentary Feature.” Directed by Steve James (the director of Hoop Dreams), the documentary spotlights the 2015 trial against client Abacus Federal Savings Bank, the only bank to face trial on criminal charges in connection with the financial crisis, and the first bank indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office since 1991.
