After a two week patent and trade secrets trial in Delaware federal court, a Sheppard Mullin team won a $38.6 million verdict for wireless technology client Qorvo Inc. against rival Akoustis Inc. Jurors found that Akoustis infringed two Qorvo patents and misappropriated more than 36 trade secrets involving Qorvo’s radio frequency technology. They awarded $7 million in exemplary damages on account of finding “willful and malicious” trade secret misappropriation.
