Sheppard Mullin Continues New York Expansion with Antitrust Partner Jared Nagley
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is pleased to announce that Jared P. Nagley has joined the firm as a partner in the Antitrust and Competition practice group and Healthcare industry team. Based in the firm’s 150-attorney New York office, Nagley was most recently counsel at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
Nagley handles complex antitrust matters, including litigation, mergers and acquisitions, strategic counseling and government investigations, with a particular focus on the healthcare industry. He represents clients before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division and state and international enforcement authorities. In addition to his experience in private practice, Nagley spent eight years in the FTC's Bureau of Competition, where he led high-profile investigations and litigation cases across the U.S. in the healthcare, consumer products, technology and industrial goods sectors. Nagley served as the FTC’s lead attorney in several significant public matters that resulted in Commission victories at the federal appellate level, the abandonment of transactions when faced with a Commission complaint, and settlements requiring divestitures.
“We’ve added incredibly smart and experienced antitrust attorneys over the past few years, including Ann O’Brien, John Carroll, Tom Dillickrath and Bevin Newman,” said Luca Salvi, chair of Sheppard Mullin. “His leading litigation and advisory roles at the FTC make him an invaluable resource to our firm and clients, particularly as we continue to see a growing demand for healthcare antitrust matters.”
Ann O’Brien, co-leader of Sheppard Mullin’s Antitrust and Competition practice group, added, “We are delighted to welcome Jared to the team. His broad experience as an antitrust litigator for the FTC and in private practice brings a unique angle to our antitrust capabilities. Our healthcare and corporate clients can count on Jared to handle their litigation needs.”
“Jared marks another important milestone in the growth and expansion of our nationwide healthcare practice,” said Eric Klein, leader of Sheppard Mullin’s Healthcare industry team. “We’re seeing a continued expansion in antitrust enforcement in the healthcare sector and Jared’s successes in the courtroom will be invaluable to our clients. His regulatory antitrust experience in mergers and acquisitions, initial risk assessments, clinical network formation and joint ventures complements our existing antitrust capabilities for healthcare companies.”
Nagley received his B.A., with first class honors, from McGill University and his J.D. from Cornell University Law School.
