Sheppard Mullin Advises CriticalPoint Capital in Sale of United Engineers & Constructors Power Delivery Division
Sheppard Mullin represented CriticalPoint Capital, LLC (“CriticalPoint”) in connection with the sale of the Power Delivery division of United Engineers & Constructors (“UEC”) to United Grid Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of Pike Corporation.
CriticalPoint, a leading LA-based investor of private capital, acquired the 120-year-old UEC in 2020 from its former public owner, stood up UEC as an independent business, and executed zero carbon and electrical grid resiliency projects across the U.S. and internationally, all leading to significant revenue and earnings growth.
The transaction was a complex division carve out and involved employees and projects scattered through a number of jurisdictions.
The Sheppard Mullin team was led by partners Zac Turke and Ed Xia and included partners Michael Chan, Frank Dworak, Brent Horstman and Carlo Van Den Bosch, special counsel Sally Elshihabi and Malika Levarlet, attorney Jay Lee and associates Brandon Faus, Coby Shirazi, Michael Thaxter and Michael Weisshar.
