Jeffrey Henley Opens 2002 Central Coast Venture
Forum Lecture Series

Oracle Corporation CFO Jeffrey Henley was the keynote speaker at an executive breakfast event held January 25, 2002 at Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara.

Henley spoke before a capacity crowd of more than 200 executives, investors and decision-makers. Henley addressed "Driving Corporate Efficiencies in a Down Economy" and answered questions from the audience. The event marked Henley's first major appearance in Santa Barbara and drew considerable press attention, including coverage on KEYT-TV.

Henley was welcomed to the event and introduced by Jim Haslem of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLPand by Mark Turk of Silicon Valley Bank. CCVF will hold its sixth annual investor conference on June 14, 2002. The conference is the largest of its kind on California's Central Coast, a technology corridor encompassing northern Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. The event showcases the region's leading entrepreneurs and emerging-growth companies to venture capitalists and angel investors. This year's annual conference will occur June 14 at Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara. An invitation is required for attendance at the annual conference. CCVF also hosts a series of lectures that are open to the public. The Henley presentation on January 25 was the first event in the 2002 lecture series.

Two other lecture events are scheduled for 2002. The cost for each of the lecture events is $20 per person and registration is available online at www.ccvf.org/rsvp/ or by calling Jim Haslem at (805) 879-1814.

The second CCVF lecture event of 2002 will feature Ken Deemer, Chairman of Tech Coast Angels. Deemer will speak on "New Angel Investment Strategies". This event includes a wine and cheese reception and will be held Tuesday, March 12 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Westlake Hyatt Hotel in Westlake Village.

The third CCVF lecture event will feature Alex Suh, Managing Director, California Technology Ventures. Suh will address "New Venture Capital Investment Strategies." This breakfast event will occur on Friday, April 12, 2002 at 8:30 a.m. at Fess Parker's Doubletree Hotel in Santa Barbara. CCVF was founded in 1996 by a group of 100 local business executives who wanted to encourage and support the formation and rapid growth of new fast-track companies located on the Central Coast. To date, CCVF has reviewed the business plans of more than 500 private companies, and helped a number of these new ventures raise over $100 million in new capital from professional investors.
