Sheppard Mullin's Yookyung Moon Elevated to Partner
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has elevated licensed foreign legal consultant Yookyung Moon to partner. Moon is a member of the firm’s Antitrust and Trade Regulation practice group and is based in the firm’s Seoul office.
Previously, Moon served as senior legal counsel on the Global Legal Affairs & Compliance Team of Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd. at its Seoul headquarters. Prior to Samsung, she practiced with Sheppard Mullin in the firm’s San Francisco office. Moon also worked out of the firm’s Shanghai office before joining Sheppard Mullin’s Seoul office.
Moon specializes in complex business litigation and white collar criminal matters with an emphasis on antitrust and unfair competition issues. She has significant experience defending multinational businesses in criminal and civil proceedings involving the U.S. Department of Justice and foreign enforcement agencies. Moon also advises clients on various corporate compliance matters including developing and implementing antitrust audit and compliance programs and providing compliance training for executives and employees. In addition, she provides counseling for multinational businesses regarding overseas investment or operations involving multijurisdictional coordination including Korea and China and liaises between the firm’s attorneys and local counsel in Korea for client matters involving business or disputes in Korea. Moon also has experience on the development of China’s Anti-monopoly Law practice as well as recent enforcement trends and cases.
Moon received her LL.M. in Trade Regulation from New York University School of Law in 2006, her LL.M. in General Studies from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003, and her LL.B., summa cum laude, from Ewha Womans University College of Law in 1999. She is a member of the New York Bar. Moon is native in Korean and fluent in English and is proficient in Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.
