Sheppard Mullin Dallas Adds Amanda Cottrell
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is pleased to announce that Amanda L. Cottrell has joined the firm’s Business Trial practice group as a partner in the Dallas office. Cottrell joins from Stanton LLP. Prior to that, Cottrell spent nine years practicing commercial and energy litigation at Locke Lord LLP.
Sheppard Mullin opened its doors in Dallas in April 2018 with 18 attorneys. Over the last 12 months, the office has grown to 27 attorneys whose diverse practices include commercial litigation, corporate, intellectual property, labor and employment, real estate and white collar criminal defense.

Cottrell’s practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigation. She has represented numerous companies in state and federal court. She routinely defends energy and natural resources companies in commercial disputes, focusing on property, contract and accounting issues. Cottrell has also assisted clients facing potential civil or criminal charges related to Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), antitrust, fraud and export matters. She has managed and participated in numerous multinational investigations with sensitive timelines and deliverables.
Cottrell earned her J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Vanderbilt University.
