Partner Jennifer Renk Elected To Bay Area Housing Advocacy Coalition Board
Sheppard Mullin is proud to announce that partner Jennifer Renk has joined the board of the Bay Area Housing Advocacy Coalition. Renk is a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office and is a member of the Real Estate, Land Use and Environmental Practice Group.
“I’m honored to join such an outstanding board,” said Jennifer Renk. “Living in the Bay Area is wonderful – but there are many challenges. Ensuring that housing is affordable and that we have good housing policies in place are key to keeping the community strong and the economy thriving. The Bay Area Housing Advocacy Coalition is one of the leading groups focused on ensuring our housing remains healthy and accessible to all.”
Renk’s practice focuses on land use and environmental law, with particular expertise in the California Environmental Quality Act. She advises clients on the regulatory and political hurdles facing development projects across California, with an emphasis on commercial, residential, mixed-use, and independent school projects. Prior to attending law school, Renk worked as District Director for U.S. Representative Ellen Tauscher. In that capacity, she devised the congresswoman’s district strategy, served as her primary point-of-contact in the community, and advised her on land use, transportation, and other public policy issues. Before that, she worked for U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer in a number of capacities. Renk’s unique political experience serves clients navigating entitlement projects through highly politicized environments.
About the Bay Area Housing Advocacy Coalition
The Bay Area Housing Advocacy Coalition (HAC) is a member-supported non-profit. We are the only organization advocating for building new well-designed, well-located housing at all levels of affordability. Formed in 1999 as San Francisco HAC during the first dot-com boom, we’ve been connecting organizations, individuals, decision-makers, and business leaders to find constructive solutions for the diverse housing needs of current and future Bay Area residents. HAC is a strong alliance of businesses, organizational and individual members who work together to support smart housing policy, transit-oriented development and creative solutions to keeping housing affordable in the Bay Area.
