Overview
Xin Xie is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm's Silicon Valley office.
Areas of Practice
Xin has been practicing intellectual property law with an emphasis on U.S. and foreign patent preparation and prosecution since 2012. He has worked with computer science and electrical technologies including computer software and hardware (e.g., computer architecture, neural networks, telecommunications, wireless power, displays, vehicle control, data processing, information technology, networking, operating systems, virtual machines, computer security, sensors, mobile technology, web technology, user interfaces, optics, imaging, battery systems, speech, semiconductors, etc.), medical devices, mechanical devices, and materials sciences.
Previously, Xin was an Examiner at the USPTO. Xin was also a Medical Device Fellow at the FDA, where he assessed the safety and efficacy of medical devices to evaluate their compliance with medical device laws. In addition to his legal experience, Xin also has engineering experience as a mechanical engineering co-op at St. Jude Medical and at startups.
Xin regularly speaks at panels and conferences. Xin was recently a panelist at the 2023 Fordham Intellectual Property Law & Policy Conference.
