Overview

Yi Shi is a patent agent in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm's Silicon Valley office. 

Areas of Practice

Yi’s practice includes preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in life science, chemical, pharmaceutical, and material science areas. She also counsels on due diligence, and freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses.

Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, Yi worked as a patent agent at prominent international law firms, where she assisted pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, universities, and research institutes in developing and growing their intellectual property. Yi performed her post-doctoral research in supramolecular chemistry and materials science at Northwestern University. As a graduate research fellow at UIC, she focused on organic synthesis and developed new methodology for synthesizing fused heterocycles.
