Amanda Bogle is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group in the firm's Chicago office and a member of the Healthcare Team.
Areas of Practice
Amanda is a healthcare attorney who’s in tune with client business strategies. She provides counsel on healthcare transactional, regulatory and operational issues, assisting healthcare providers across the country as they navigate an ever-evolving regulatory landscape. She frequently addresses questions regarding:
- Pharmacy, including retail, specialty, institutional, pharmacy benefit managers, infusion, mail order, telepharmacy, and third-party administrators
- 340B Program
- State and federal payor issues and arrangements
- Mergers & acquisitions, including Medicare changes of ownership (CHOW)
- Fraud and abuse laws, such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law and False Claims Act
- Billing and reimbursement (e.g., Outpatient Prospective Payment System, Medicare Physician Fee Schedule)
- Telehealth
- Hospital licensure, certification, and accreditation
- Academic Medical Centers
- Strategic structuring
- Providers serving rural and underserved populations (e.g., Rural Health Clinics, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, 340B Covered Entities)
- Corporate practice of medicine
- Medicare and Medicaid enrollment and compliance
- Certificates of Need
Amanda has been enthusiastic about healthcare for most of her life and began honing her experience in healthcare law in law school when she served as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Before joining Sheppard Mullin, Amanda was a healthcare regulatory and transactional attorney for an AmLaw 100 law firm with a nationally-recognized healthcare practice. Additionally, Amanda’s prior experience as a senior attorney at a healthcare consulting firm taught her to think in terms of best strategies not only for regulatory compliance, but also revenue optimization and patient satisfaction.
When Amanda counsels a client on regulatory requirements, she’s considering not only the legal issues at hand, but also the effects of the regulations on business operations and the client’s broader business model. Clients value her focus on their overall strategy, as well as her efforts to understand their organizations: Amanda is known for her attention to client relationships and for her excellent communication.
