Sheppard Mullin Continues Energy Team Expansion with Regulatory Team
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is pleased to announce that Bruce Grabow and Jennifer Brough joined the firm as partners in the Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance industry team and the Real Estate, Energy, Land Use & Environmental practice group. They were previously at Locke Lord LLP.
Grabow, based in Washington, D.C., has more than 30 years of experience counseling independent power developers and owners, merchant generators, electric power marketers, merchant transmission, electric utility companies, investment and private equity funds, and wholesale and retail customers. With particular expertise in the renewable energy sector, Grabow represents clients in regulatory, compliance and transactional matters pertaining to the electric energy industry before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs). Grabow received his B.S., with honors, from the University of Florida and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Widener University. Grabow was recently selected, again, by Best Lawyers for Energy Law.
Brough, based in San Francisco, represents pipeline, electric and renewable energy companies in corporate matters and before federal agencies, including FERC and the Department of Energy. She advises clients on regulatory compliance issues at the state and federal levels. She also guides them through their energy transition efforts, including greenhouse gas emissions reduction programs and environmental justice and community engagement initiatives. Brough is a member of the Energy Bar Association and an advisory board member of the Children’s Law Center of Washington, D.C. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles and her J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law, where she served as Literary Citation Editor for the Pepperdine Law Review.
“Expanding our nationally recognized renewable energy team is a key strategic goal for the firm," said Luca Salvi, chair of Sheppard Mullin. “Bruce and Jennifer’s robust regulatory expertise, especially representing renewable energy sponsors and independent power producers before FERC, augments our existing capabilities and further cements our industry-leading profile coast to coast.”
“Our Energy team is well-equipped to help clients keep up with increased demand for renewable energy,” added Sheppard Mullin Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance team co-leader Tony Toranto. “Bruce and Jennifer’s track record advising energy clients on regulatory filings, strategies and due diligence makes Sheppard Mullin the destination for regulatory and compliance counsel in clean energy transactions.”
Earlier this year, renewable energy tax partner Julie Marion joined Sheppard Mullin’s Chicago office from national accounting firm KPMG.
