Sheppard Mullin Advised Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company in Securing Nearly $1 Billion for Its Cider Solar Project in New York
Sheppard Mullin’s Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance team represented Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company (Greenbacker) in securing $950 million in aggregate financing to support the acquisition, construction and operation of its largest clean energy project to date. Construction began in late 2024 and when completed, the 674 MWdc / 500 MWac utility-scale solar farm ("Cider”) will be the largest solar project in the state of New York. Cider will utilize approximately 2,500 acres of land in Genesee County, New York. The project is expected to generate enough annual clean electricity to power approximately 120,000 average New York households.
