Sheppard Mullin Advising Village Roadshow Entertainment Group in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

03.28.2025

Sheppard Mullin is acting as lead Debtors’ counsel to Village Roadshow Entertainment Group and its 33 affiliates in their chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Village Roadshow commenced chapter 11 following a liquidity crisis triggered by a years-long arbitration with Warner Brothers, its long-time production partner, and underperformance of its independent studio business. Village Roadshow entered bankruptcy with debtor-in-possession financing from its pre-petition lenders of approximately $12.7M and a stalking horse purchaser in place for its largest asset – the film library – with a floor price of $365M.

The bankruptcy team is led by Justin Bernbrock and includes Jennifer Nassiri, Alyssa Paddock, Matt Benz, and Brandon Mohamad.

Stacey Rosenberg led the finance team and Aerin Snow, with assistance from Julia Ji and Jonathan Leiter, led the corporate team in connection with the stalking-horse purchase agreement.
