Sheppard Mullin Leading Healthcare Regulatory Aspects for Molina Healthcare’s Acquisition of Bright HealthCare’s California Medicare Business
Sheppard Mullin’s Healthcare Team is guiding Molina Healthcare, Inc. (“Molina”) through the healthcare regulatory aspects in connection with Molina’s agreement to acquire Brand New Day and Central Health Plan of California, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Bright Health Company of California, Inc. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024.
Molina is a Fortune 500 company providing managed healthcare services under the Medicaid and Medicare programs and through the state insurance marketplaces. The acquisition represents a strong strategic fit with Molina’s expanded 2024 Medi-Cal contract, as well as its strategy of serving high-acuity, low income members.
The Sheppard Mullin team serving as regulatory counsel to Molina includes partners Christine Clements and Lynsey Mitchel, associates Esperance Becton, Alexandria Foster, Jarrod Brodsky, Sheela Ranganathan, Kendall Kohlmeyer and law clerk Lotan Helfman.
